This week’s winner, Surfside Patisserie, didn’t enjoy too much competition but it was well worth the experience. The pies were tasty and cheap – obviously a surfer’s hang out.

This week’s winner was unanimously Lovell’s Bakery in Birdwood. The baker is a fourth generation Lovell (Lovell’s was until recently the main bread baker in Adelaide). Elliott’s Bakery & Cafe in Streaky Bay won by default this week as we didn’t find any other bakeries to sample. However, Elliott’s was certainly well deserved and would have been stiff competition for any bakery – quite possibly pipping last week’s winner.

The two contenders this week were Narrogin’s Fortune French Hot Bread and Kalgoorlie’s French Hot Bread.
