AussieRoadTrip.com is a space for us to write our journey around Australia. After 23 years without any Long Service Leave it was apparent that our family needed an extended holiday. The family consists of my gorgeous wife Deb, Jordan (13), Emily (11), Levi (8) , Miriam (6) and myself (Stuart).
For the past two years we have been dreaming of taking the family around Australia in a 4WD and caravan. The only problem was, we had neither. Regardless, we set about planning a trip that would take in all the major towns and cities – and a few offbeat ones – plus snow, the AFL GrandFinal and the Queensland theme parks.
Then we were blessed with a 17ft 1980′s Windsor caravan as a gift from friends. It smelled atrocious but with a little vision we believed we could turn it into something that would house our family for six months and for small trips in the future.
