We arrived at Wonga Beach and set up our caravan. Some of the local people told us there was a big salt water croc on the beach. I wanted to go and have a look for it, but mum and dad wouldn’t take me. It was a nice camping area on the beach, but we couldn’t swim because of crocs and stingers again! I like Busselton because you can swim anywhere!
We drove to the Daintree rainforest and you had to take a car ferry across the river. I think that the Daintree rainforest was cool, there were lots of big trees, vines and heaps of mini beasts. You just had to keep your eyes open. We were rushing along too much so dad told us we had to look for different types of spiders, and fungi. At the end of the board walk we noticed a big group of people looking at something, it was Cassowary and two chicks. I thought the cassowary was interesting because I have never seen a cassowary in the wild before. We were pretty lucky to see it because apparently you will see ten wild crocodiles to every one cassowary.
We spent a lot of time this week driving to waterfalls and swimming holes. My favourite waterfall was called Milla Milla falls, they were so pretty and dad, Jordan and Emily went for a swim underneath the water fall, I tried to swim but the current was very strong.
We started our big drive across from Queensland to Northern Territory at the end of this week. Before we drove too far we stopped at Undara. They have an outback bush camp ground which was exotic and fun, they had big lava tubes there and we went on a tour to look at them. I thought that the lava tubes were very cool because they were like big caves and I couldn’t believe they were full of lava a long time ago. After two nights we were on the road again and drove our longest trip in ages. Mum and dad said to get used to it because all week we would be driving!
