Week 19 Highlights

Oh no disaster struck! Our caravan tyre fell off. We were driving along and we heard a bang coming from the van. Dad stopped the car and we got out to have a look. The caravan wall was mangled and the wheel was missing. I was feeling a bit scared and I hid in the car because I didn’t want to see the damage. Lots of people drove past and asked us if we wanted help, and a nice man called Russell gave us some help. We had to wait on the side of the road for ages while mum and Russell drove to town to get the tyre fixed. Finally we were all better and could keep driving. It was very late and raining a lot, so we stayed at a place called Moranbah. I liked that because we had takeaway for dinner. Yum!

It was raining so much in McKay that we just kept driving to Airlie Beach. It was raining a lot there too. I liked Airlie Beach it was a nice looking town and we walked around. There were schoolies there too, but they weren’t too noisy. There was a nice man made swimming lagoon near the beach and we enjoyed that. You can’t swim at the beach because there are marine stingers and sometimes crocs.

Our last stop this week was Paronella Park. It was a very green place with lots of plants, places to walk and sit. A man built lots of buildings and especially had a dream to build a castle. The castle had fallen down a bit and there was ivy growing all over it, I thought it looked very pretty. They used to let people come and have picnics there and there was a café and ballroom and even change rooms if you wanted to go for a swim. The change rooms were funny and little.

I liked Paronella Park and we had a good week.
