Week 19 Highlights

Oh no when we were 50km out of town we heard a pop and stopped to look at the car. Our caravan tyre was gone. Lots of guys drove past and offered to stop and help us. Three of them did stop and one guy called Russel stayed with us all day and helped a lot. That was really kind of him to help us out. When I first saw the caravan I felt really nervous because it was tilted to one side and I didn’t know how we would fix it. I thought to myself, “would more things keep going wrong” and was worried about getting home safely. We had to wait on the side of the road all day for mum and Russell to come back with the new wheel. Dad fixed the caravan wall while we waited. Finally we were on the road again and only drove 30km to Moranbah to stay the night. It was good stopping at Moranbah because we got to have KFC takeaway. (Kids Fat Centre)

We stayed at Airlie Beach for three nights. It rained the whole time but we still went for lots of swims. They have a man made lagoon near the beach and I really liked it. You can’t swim at the beach there because there are marine stingers which could kill you. Also there are crocodiles sometimes. Airlie Beach was a great holiday spot, it was really busy when we went there because there were lots of schoolies. There was a schoolies central area which looked awesome but we couldn’t go in there. There was a riding bull, a velcro sicking wall and lots of other cool attractions. I think it would be a great place to have schoolies.

The next place to stay was at Paronella Park. I thought that Paronella Park was really cool, we went on a night tour and a day tour. At night we saw glow in the dark mushrooms and a bush turkey up in a tree. We also saw the waterfall lit up and at the picnic area there were heaps of eels. We were allowed to feed the eels and some turtles as well. During the day tour we went in the tunnel of love and saw some micro bats they were so cute and small. It really stunk in the tunnel. We told mum and dad not to cuddle in the tunnel of love! At night time there were heaps of bugs around our light and we decided it would be a good idea to start a bug collection.
