Week 7

This week we were finally going to go on the Spirit of Tasmania Ferry. I was feeling excited about going on the boat. The boat was big I was amazed when we drove onto it. There were a lot of cars with caravans on too, I couldn’t believe we would all fit. When we parked our car we explored the boat and found our cabin. We had dinner at the “Captains Table” restaurant. It was cool because we got to choose our own food. After dinner we changed into our PJ’s then went to the movie room and watched Treasure Island. I liked the ferry it was very cool, but I didn’t like my bed rocking all night.

We drove to Bridport, which our friends who we met in Coober Pedy said was really nice. Once the caravan was set up we put on our bathers and went to the beach to build sand castles. The sun was shining and it was a lovely day. We made sandcastles, explored the rocks, played pirate capturing games. Emily, Miriam and I were on a team against Jordan. We went hunting for oysters and found a dozen. Our neighbour was a nice man called John and we gave him the oysters. He bought us some chips and lollies to say thanks for the oysters.

After Bridport we drove down the coast of Tasmania and stayed near St Helen’s. I bought a fishing rod and dad, Jordan and I tried to catch some fish from the beach. None of us caught any fish. Boo Hoo :-(

Next we drove some more and stopped to walk out to Wineglass Bay. I thought the walk was very steep and took ages. Once we got to the top and looked down at the water it was like a circle, I think it was supposed to look like a wineglass but I didn’t think so. We kept driving up and down hills all the way to Hobart. I liked Hobart it was pretty big, but not huge like Melbourne. We stayed at Treasure Island Caravan Park, which was OK except for the water birds. They kept swooping me because they thought I would chase their babies.
