On the way to the Brisbane ranges we drove along the Great Ocean Road. We saw some whales and some interesting rocks, called the twelve apostles. I counted them and there were only eight so I am not sure why they are called the twelve apostles. It was very cold and we had soup for lunch. The great ocean road started to get very curvy, and I was a bit scared of falling off the edge of the road. We had to drive very slowly.
We set of to the Brisbane Ranges. It was a fun time there, because it was a very big place and we played lots of games in the bush. Even Emily played pirates. We also lit lots of fires to keep warm because it was cold and rained all week. Some school kids rocked up to camp there too. They left behind some gear so we picked it up and dropped it back to their school on the way to Melbourne.
On Tuesday this week we went to Sovereign Hill which was like an old gold mining town. It was cool because they had lots of displays to show us what it was like mining gold in the 1850’s. We saw a man pouring melted gold into a block. He let me come up and hold the block of gold which cost around $130,000. I was happy that he chose me and it was very heavy. We had to get a stamp on our hand to go out for lunch and the trooper was being silly and stamped my face. I liked the troopers , they were very silly. They also had a musket firing demonstration which was loud, I covered my ears and my tummy felt weird when he shot the gun powder.
