A Review of Lake Ballard

A Review of Lake Ballard

Lake Ballard is an Uber salt lake 600 km2 approx. and 50 km out of a hole of a town called Menzies. In fact it’s a bigger hole than Dunsborough. Lake Ballard is covered in 50 statues that are meant to represent a local aboriginal tribe. Just a few hundred metres from the entrance is a hill, looking completely out of place like a tree on the Nullarbor, that you can climb to the top of and see a spectacular 360° view of the lake. I gave it a 9/10 on the Uber scale.

The lake carries on for as far as the eye can see and with it’s stunning, life-size statues it creates a memorable vista that was worth every second spent visiting it. However, the lake is covered in mud and it’s so hard to get anywhere because the salt lake is so ginormous and you’re not permitted to drive on it.

    Hi Jordan
If you are going to Naracoorte go to the caves outside of town (on the road to Mt Gambia) and have a look at the australian tiger and the giant snake fossils.
