Re-Roofing the Caravan

Re-Roofing the Caravan

The roof was a bit tired and saggy plus it had a few holes in it causing more problems which had to be remedied. However, on the bright side of the ledger it was the exact profile that the walls were constructed from which gave us a few options for patching some gaping holes – namely where the kitchen window once was.

4 1/2 sheets of .7mm aluminum sheeting later the roof had been replaced at a much cheaper price than purchasing modular external sheets. Yay! The sides of the roof were stapled down while we opted for aluminium rivets at either end. Deb gracefully sat on top once the sheets were fixed and applied a painted webbing between each sheet to stop any moisture making it’s way through into the van again.
